The Knight Line: Important information and updates from BHS

8/31/26

Welcome back!

It was great to see so many students last week at Summer Knight Days and to welcome everyone back to BHS today. I was able to meet many students and they were all so helpful and kind. I am so fortunate to work in Bremerton!
As I mentioned in my last letter, we are focusing on a few key initiatives this year to create a safe, orderly, and supportive environment:
  • Mind Over Mobile: Starting Wednesday, September 2nd, students will have to turn in phones that are seen during instructional time. Parents will be notified.
  • On-Time Attendance: Starting Tuesday, September 8th, students who are not in class by the bell will need to get a tardy pass from a centralized kiosk before entering. For every 5 tardies, they will receive a detention.
  • Digital Hall Passes: Students must have a digital hall pass to be out of class. We will monitor how frequently students are out of class and keep families informed.
We are holding assemblies for each grade level this week to explain the updated procedures to students.
I will also be hosting a family meeting via Zoom on Thursday, September 17th from 5-6pm to explain these procedures and respond to your questions and concerns. Please fill out this survey to help guide the discussion.
Here's to a great school year, Go Knights!
