Important safety update

Dear BHS students and families:

This morning, a fire was set in a boys restroom at Bremerton High School. Students and staff were safely evacuated. There was considerable smoke and Bremerton Fire Department paramedics are on site to assist with anyone who may have been impacted by the smoke. 

Due to smoke and fumes, all students and staff remained outside in Memorial Stadium for about 45 minutes until the Bremerton Fire Department notified us that it was safe for people to return to the building. 

We are assessing the damage and working with law enforcement to investigate the student(s) involved.

Arson is a serious crime that can have devastating consequences. Any student found to be involved in arson will face severe consequences, including legal action. These actions can also put the safety of our entire school community at risk.

We appreciate the quick response from and partnership with the Bremerton Police Department and Bremerton Fire Department.
