Update re: parent/guardian communication

Posted Date: 9/30/24 (7:07 PM)

The following message was sent out via our old messaging system (Blackboard) this evening as we work to ensure that all families are receiving our ParentSquare communication.

Greetings, BSD Families!

As you likely know, the District has transitioned to ParentSquare for communication with our families. ParentSquare is a robust tool and this is a big transition - we really appreciate your patience during this transition as we learn how to use all of the great ParentSquare features.

I'm sending this email today from our old parent messaging tool called "Blackboard."  Our contract with Blackboard is expiring so we will no longer be using it to send emails, texts or "robo calls."

I wanted to send one last message from Blackboard just in case some of you aren't - for whatever reason - receiving our ParentSquare communication.

While ParentSquare has a phone and desktop app, parents/guardians do NOT have to use the ParentSquare app to receive our communication.  Parents/guardians who have NOT activated their ParentSquare accounts should still be receiving our emails, texts and/or attendance phone calls (depending on what contact information we have for you in Skyward) from ParentSquare.
If you have NOT been receiving communication (email, text or app notification) from ParentSquare, please try the following:

1) Check your SPAM folder for messages from the District and/or your child's school and mark the email as “safe” or “not spam”
2) Log-in to Skyward and complete your Annual Back-to-School Check-In (ABCs) and make sure the email or phone numbers we have for you are up-to-date.
3) Contact your child's school for assistance.
4) Complete this quick form to request assistance

We want to ensure we can reach all families with news and updates, and in an emergency situation. Thanks for your support!
